Today I finished 2 books.

Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury and The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards.
I read the 1st because it is one of my mom's favorite books. I've been wanting to read it for a while and finally got around to it. It was good, the perfect summer book. And it was fun to read something my mom loves.
I found the 2nd at a thrift store. It sounded really interesting so I decided to give it a try.

"This stunning novel begins on a winter night in 1964, when a blizzard forces Dr. David Henry to deliver his own twins. His son, born first, is perfectly healthy, but the doctor immediately recognizes that his daughter has Down syndrome. For motives he tells himself are good, he makes a split-second decision that will haunt all their lives forever. He asks his nurse, Caroline, to take the baby away to an institution. Instead, she disappears into another city to raise the child as her own. Compulsively readable and deeply moving, The Memory Keeper's Daughter is a brilliantly crafted story of parallel lives, familial secrets, and the redemptive power of love."

It was really good. I was worried that I wouldn't like the ending, and while it wasn't quite what I was expecting, it was good.

A few weeks ago I finished the latest Francine Rivers book, Her Mother's Hope. And as always, Francine's book was amazing. I love that author. The sequel come out in the fall and I can't wait!

What to read next??? I think I'll start: The Deity Formerly Known as God by Jarrett Stevens. I've heard the author speak before and really liked him so I'm expecting a lot from this book. :)
