Cake Baking.

Thursday

I LOVE this scene. It's pretty much why I would watch the whole movie.

(I'm making a birthday cake for elizabeth (21!) and was reminded of Merryweather, Flora, and Fauna:)

Music.

Wednesday

Listen. Can you hear it? The music. I can hear it everywhere. In the wind... in the air... in the light. Its all around us. All you have to do is open yourself up. All you have to do... is listen.

Flowers.

Friday

Did I mention that I went to Illinois a few weeks ago with my mom and Anna Rose? I really can't remember. Anyway, we went to help Grandma Speciale pack up some of her stuff (she's at an assisted living home now) and while we were there, she and my mom were constantly showing me new flowers. I've never been in Illinois in the spring and so I've missed a lot of them. It was especially exciting because my very favorite flower has (for a long time) been a peony. However, I'd only seen them in magazines. When my grandma heard this, she made a call and we drove out to her friend's house to see some. Her friend was really nice and cut me off some for me. Aren't they pretty? (I forgot makeup that day...)

Anna Rose liked the flowers too :)

Friday.

1. This week I got book 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of the Harry Potter series for a total of $18.75.

2. I also got a large suitcase for Haiti for $11.oo.

3. And a pair of jeans for $2.00.

4. I love thrift stores.

5. Today I washed and cleaned my car, picked up my anti-malaria pills for Haiti, worked a little on an art project, and found a recipe for curry chicken (which I plan on making tonight...maybe).

...6. I'm really homesick. Today is the first day of U-Pick at the blueberry farm. I'm sad I can't be there. I miss blueberries, but mostly I miss my famliy. I've been trying to stay busy to distract myself from this silly homesickness I'm experiencing.

7. I have lots of reading to do...

wed. list.

Wednesday

1. I can't stop eating chocolate chips.

2. I've been collecting stuff for Haiti (ziplock bags, gatorade, wet wipes, etc...things we'll be using there) It's coming up soon and I'm super excited. :)

3. Today I went in search of the 6th Harry Potter book. I went to 5 thrift stores (found the 5th book for a quarter), 2 used bookstores, Borders, Target, and ended up buying it at Walmart.

4. I might be in love with a boy named Ronald Weasley.

5. I'm turning my first summer assignment in tomorrow. It was a super easy formal analysis of a work of art...I can handle this.

6. I need some new recipes...I don't know what to cook anymore.

7. Maybe I'll just live off of chocolate chips.

8. I've gone 4 days without biting my nails!!!

9. I'm going camping next weekend...if anyone knows any amazing camping snacks/recipes to share let me know. :)

oh boy.

Sunday

elizabeth and I just watched the workout video, "Firm Flat Abs Fast!" (the use of alliteration does not make it any more appealing to me). It was exhausting but I'm determined (for now...haha) to continue. We're gonna do it 3 times a week...I'll let you know how it goes.

Best workout quote:

elizabeth: my favorite part is the pilates.
me: which part was that?
elizabeth: it was when we were screaming.

children's books.

Saturday

Tonight elizabeth and I went to a bookstore for some children's book reading. We both got a huge stack and found a table in the coffee shop and read. After going through the books, we wrote down our faves and then returned the books to their places. While putting them away, we found more books we fell in love with.
There we sat...in the middle of the children's book section...reading books. elizabeth had tears streaming down her face and I was covered in goosebumps. Children's books are inspiring.

no more words.

I don't know what's been going on. I never want to write about my life anymore. I've had a lot I could write about (good and bad)...I just don't feel like it. When I think of blogging it exhausts me. So I think for the time being I'll try and post some pictures. Some random stuff that's been happening. "A picture's worth a thousand words" so this should be good enough. :)

picture of the day: Anna Rose
p.s. please pray-she's been sick a lot this year and is sick again...along with another ear infection. not fun.
